Seal Cove Auto Museum will host a festive Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 9th from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Admission to this fun, family event is by donation, and the team at Seal Cove looks forward to providing a fun morning of cars, crafts, and community as we celebrate the tidings of the season.
Attendees are invited to enjoy a winter crafting workshop with Executive Director Ethan Yankura and Program Coordinator Jane Parlee. Participants will have the option to make a variety of toys, ornaments, and decorations to bring home and/or gift some handmade holiday cheer. There will be activities designed for a variety of ages and abilities!
Described by its lovely owner as a “Cheerful Red Christmas Carriage,” families can have their holiday photos taken with a beautifully decorated rare and wonderful 1906 Wayne which will be making a stop at Seal Cove’s Holiday Open House to help spread holiday cheer as it makes its way to the North Pole!
Families are invited to bring their holiday letters or write them at the museum where a holiday letter writing station will be available to all. This area will be outfitted with materials to create a special holiday letter to be delivered straight to Santa in the Little Red Carriage.
Starting at 10:30, Southwest Harbor Public Library’s Miss Chrissy will be leading a car themed winter Storytime! Families should plan to arrive in time for little ones to enjoy this special program filled with rhymes, songs, puppets, movement, dancing and more.
A selection of free holiday refreshments will be available including warm beverages for the whole family and seasonal treats to enjoy. Wear your favorite “ugly” holiday sweater for a chance to be featured on our Facebook Page!
The Museum store will be open and a selection of wonderful items will be available for purchase including logoed clothing for the whole family, puzzles, games, educational toys, books, ornaments, and so much more!
A swag bag containing a selection of special items from the museum will be raffled off during the event and tickets will be available for purchase with proceeds benefitting the museum.
Seal Cove Auto Museum will be collecting donations of non-perishable, unexpired food items for donation to our local food pantry, so please feel free to bring an item or items to contribute.
