Speakeasy The Roaring Twenties comes to the Seal Cove Auto Museum! There will be 12-piece swing band, a specialty cocktail created just for this event, prohibition era beers, blackjack tables, and even a performance by a belly dancer. It’s sure to be the cat’s pajamas!

Lego Day Come play with us! Kids of all ages are invited to come and be inspired by the unique collection of the earliest cars and motorcycles, and then create their own automobile inspiration with the museum's Lego® brand blocks.

Exhibit Opening Help us celebrate the opening of a new season and a new exhibit Auto Wars: Then & Now - forever changing the nature of Mount Desert Island. This exhibit explores the impact of community decisions on the physical, cultural, and economic landscape through a choose-your-own-adventure exhibit.

Spooky Car Days A special “Spooky” exhibit of ghouls and goblins creeping around the unique collection of rare early cars and motorcyles. The week will open with a Haunted House on the evening of October 24; and throughout the week will include guided tours, tasty treats, terrifying trimmings, ghoulish games, grab-bags for kids in costume, and more. Free admission for kids under 12.

Steam Car Day Learn about the role of steam cars in the earliest days of car manufacturing, while exploring possibilities for steam cars in the future.

History Happy Hour - TRIVIA NIGHT! Come test your knowledge of MDI and automotive history while enjoying local brews at Bar Harbor Beer Works. For members and friends of members of the Seal Cove Auto Museum and MDI Historical Society.

Demonstration Day: The Pedal Car & Radio-Controlled Concourse Bring your pedal car to the museum and view the pedal cars belonging to the museum and others. Or, if radio-controlled vehicles are more your speed, bring your radio-controlled car, plane, or drone to the museum to demonstrate to other enthusiasts.

Electric Car Day Learn about the role of electric cars in the earliest days of car manufacturing, while exploring possibilities for electric cars in the future. Rides in the 1908 Rauch & Lang electric car will be offered.
Friday, August 21
5pm - 8pm
Brass Cars & Brass Cameras Artist Albert Mach will display his collection of “Brass Era” cameras, including a number of large historic view cameras from around 1900, as well as a number of other cameras used at that time and earlier. Mr. Mach will also display his Fine Art GiClees of the brass era autos, many taken at the museum, and discuss his techniques and processes. Coffee, juice, and "Sheila's Gourmet Cookies" will be served.

Demonstration Day: Cruise to the Quietside All are invited to cruise to the Seal Cove Auto Museum with their “Pride & Joy” automobile to have the opportunity to show it off. Whether it is an antique, classic, hot rod, motorcycle, or something else entirely that defies categorization, we want to see it and give your prized vehicle the chance to be seen. “Eat at Joe’s” Farm Fresh food service will be there with locally-sourced burgers, sandwiches, salads, and more. Open to the public. Free admission to the museum after 4:00 p.m.

Rusticator Picnic Join us at the Seal Cove Auto Museum for a picnic inspired by the early 1900s rusticator tradition, among the museum's collection of elegant Brass Era autos. The event will include a fashion show of period clothing from the collection of Norma Spurling, and a raffle of unique antique auto experiences.

Demonstration Day: Wood-Gas Generator A special demonstration of a wood-gas generator by Stephen Abbadessa of Northern Self Reliance, LLC. Various demos, videos, and additional information will be presented by this mechanical engineer and alternative energy expert throughout the day about his biomass to fuel gas conversion system. Rides offered in other vehicles, weather permitting.
